Knowing that Paris is the capital of France is easy. Placing it accurately on a blank world map, under a ten-second timer, is a different kind of geography quiz.

Move the crosshair to the capital's location, confirm your pin, and see how many kilometres you missed by.

PARISTOKYONAIROBI

A spatial capitals quiz

Name recall is not enough. You have to place the capital.

Many world capitals quizzes ask you to type a city or match it to a country. Pindrop asks a more revealing question: where is that capital on the map?

Every answer is a pin. A close pin earns more points, and a quick answer can add a time bonus. After five rounds, you get a complete breakdown of your distances and scores.

Pindrop world capitals round asking the player to locate Paris on a map of Europe.

Global or region focus

Study the whole world or focus your practice

Global mode can draw capitals from around the world. Region Focus lets you narrow the map and practise one continent at a time.

Global Capitals

Mix continents and train the broad mental map you need for a true world capitals challenge.

Region Focus

Choose Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, or Oceania when one part of the map needs attention.

Learn from each pin

Turn a wrong capital into a useful map memory

  1. Notice the direction. Was your pin north, south, east, or west of the capital?
  2. Use nearby borders and coastlines. They form stronger anchors than a floating city name.
  3. Watch your distance. Reducing the average miss matters more than memorising one perfect answer.
  4. Repeat a region. A focused set helps nearby capitals stop blending together.

Pindrop rule: each game has five rounds, each round lasts ten seconds, and every round is worth up to 1,000 points.
